Steven C. Calvelage, 70, of Fruitland passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home in Fruitland surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery. Following the committal service a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Grandview Academy Park Shelter House. Steven Craig Calvelage was born on June 11, 1953, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Donald Harold and Beatrice Arlene (Birkhofer) Calvelage. Steven attended L&M Schools and Muscatine High School. On November 13, 1971, he was united in marriage to Pamela Jo Peterson in Grandview. Steven owned and operated an auto mechanic shop, Steve and Gary’s Country Market and also worked for Heinz for 24 years and HON for 11 years. He enjoyed his guns, gardening, camping, fishing and tinkering in his garage, but most of all, Steven dearly loved to spend time with his family.
Steven will be deeply missed by his wife, Pam of Fruitland; his children, Rachael Calvelage of West Burlington, Kristina (Todd) Conrad of Tama and Pete (Brandy) Calvelage of Letts; eight grandchildren, Jordan (Stephen) Kruse, Madelyn Baker, Cole Harmon, Mason Baker, Rees Harmon, Cody Calvelage, Morgan Barker and Hayden Calvelage; one great grandchild, Collins Kruse; siblings, Diana (Bill) Stickrod of Grandview, George Calvelage of Muscatine, Sharon Osborn of Columbus Junction and Kim (Ted) Reynolds of Columbus Junction and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Jeffrey Calvelage and great niece, Raeanna Reynolds.
