Donald (Jos) Green Obituary

Donald Joslin (Jos) Green, 74, of Lone Tree entered eternal rest on Friday, February 20, 2026 after a lengthy illness.  Funeral Services for Jos will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Lone Tree Cemetery of Lone Tree.   Following the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lone Tree First Responders or the Fisher House at the Minneapolis VA Hospital.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Jos was born at Iowa City’s Mercy Hospital on November 29, 1951 to Marion (Ferd) Green and Lucille Kirchner Green. 

Jos played bass guitar in two rock bands in the early 1970’s.  He mastered many trades including radio technician for ICBM Missiles at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Manager of a photo lab and most recently, a truck driver for L.L. Pelling in North Liberty.  Jos was an avid reader of science fiction and investigative mysteries.  He also enjoyed wood working and gifted many crosses, intricate boxes and night lights to countless people. 

Jos married Jeanne Balland Green on October 9, 1979.  They share three children: Jonathan (Eleanore Taft), James (Krysta Keough) and Mariah (Anthony Montemayor) as well as five grandchildren, Aaron, Benji, Maks, Imma and Zelie Green.  Jos is also survived by his one sister, Rory (Ron) Hughes and son, John Paul Green. 

Jos was preceded in death by his precious son, Aaron Christian and his loving parents.
